Senior Project Manager

Skender is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our talented group of employees in Indianapolis. 

Primary Responsibilities

A Senior Project Manager at Skender is responsible for maintaining profit, quality, safety and schedule of all assigned construction projects. Senior Project Managers provide overall management direction for existing projects to develop and maintain professional working relationships with the owner, architect, and other related project participants.

  • Review the requirements of each project and compare the capabilities and workload of project team members. Assign the appropriate project team to each new project.
  • During the course of construction, identify changes in the contract documents that may result in added cost or time of construction and ensure the proper documentation is provided to preserve a contract change.
  • Collaborate with the project team and other parties in preparing a schedule of construction activities and ensure that Skender’s production fundamental philosophy is being followed in each of the scheduling disciplines.
  • Establish relationships with clients, architects, trade partners and building management that will enhance our capability to transform the construction experience and perform repeat negotiated work. 
  • Direct the training and development of suitable personnel to accept future management and supervisory responsibility; encourage and motivate employees on assigned projects to continue to prepare themselves to provide for the expansion and growth of the company.  
  • Effectively present to clients during sales pitches by holding the audience’s attention and being prepared by offering the right length and detail for the amount of
     information covered. 



  • 4-year construction management or engineering degree
  • 8 or more years experience in a project management capacity in the construction or engineering field
  • Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on projects
  • Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills
  • Thorough understanding of scheduling principles and techniques


  • Must have reliable transportation to get you to your designated work site, which can be anywhere in the Indianapolis area. A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is recommended for the nature of this position.
