Estimating Engineer (Self-Perform)

Skender is currently seeking an Estimating Engineer to join our talented group of employees.


Responsibilities

Skender Self-Perform is looking to fill a dynamic position with a large amount of career growth. The Estimating Engineer position will learn the role of self-perform estimator initially, with a long term goal of moving into estimating and project management of Skender projects. The responsibilities of this role will be a progression of learning to prepare detailed estimates for painting, metal framing and drywall, general and trim carpentry and interior demolition projects.

  • Perform quantity take-offs in OST
  • Prepare bid documents and forms for final submission
  • Prepare bid letters, clarifications & exclusions
  • Examine and document site & existing conditions


Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in construction, real estate and or/similar industry
  • Technical college degree is a plus, but not a requirement
  • Basic blueprint reading skills are preferred; willingness to take blueprint reading courses to improve abilities will be required
  • Must have solid analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines and accomplish tasks without direct oversight
