Loyola University Engineering Flex Lab
A new, single-story flex lab and maker space for the Loyola University.
This building is for the university's engineering science program and its active learning network.
The exterior features a large façade with electrochromic technology, a form of Smart Glass that changes with the intensity of sunlight on the exterior. The glass becomes less transparent when the sun starts to set in the west, reducing the solar heat gain and glare into the facility, which aids in the project’s LEED Silver certification.
