Skender Promotes Dan Polito to Director of Operations, Northern California, to Lead San Francisco Office
To address the growth in interior construction needs for companies based in San Francisco, Skender has promoted Dan Polito to Director of Operations, Northern California. In this role as head of Skender’s San Francisco office, Polito will oversee the quality and timely completion of construction projects, new business pursuits and operations for all of northern California.
As one of the nation’s largest general contractors, Skender began managing construction projects for clients in the San Francisco area in 2010. Skender opened its local San Francisco office at 101 Mission St. in 2016, and Polito has played an instrumental role in supporting Skender’s vision and driving the firm’s success on the West Coast. After joining Skender in 2013, he relocated to San Francisco with several other employees to operate at the Skender San Francisco office in 2016. Polito previously worked as Senior Project Manager and Team Leader, running high-profile construction projects for many Bay Area companies.
“Dan Polito’s proactive and collaborative approach in San Francisco has helped position Skender as one of the top choices for Bay Area companies planning to renovate or expand,” said Skender Executive Vice President and Partner Dan Marijan. “He works tirelessly to strengthen Skender’s relationships with California clients, partners and employees.”
Skender has completed significant new construction and office interior renovation projects in the Bay Area across multiple downtown neighborhoods like SoMa, East Cut and Mission Bay. The San Francisco office has significantly expanded since its opening, driven by organic growth with an expected 10 times increase in revenue from 2017 to 2018. The local team now comprises more than 20 construction experts, constituting a doubling of its workforce since the beginning of 2017.
“I have always been impressed by Skender’s people-centric culture and drive to transform the construction industry,” said Polito. “I’m excited to expand upon that positive culture as we continue to grow locally and exceed client expectations in the greater Bay Area.”
Polito earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
