Construction Assembler

The Assembler position will be based at our Manufacturing facility located on the Southwest side of Chicago Primary

Responsibilities:
Perform tasks involving physical labor for modular manufacturing, including the fabrication, production, and assembly of inventory, and the operation of machines related to each phase.

TYPICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
• Use drawings, schematics, technical data, and written instructions to perform a variety of tasks. These tasks involve manual labor and include but
are not limited to fabrication, production and assembly, including the operation of machines related to the fabrication, production and assembly of
chassis; all structural connections; all structural and framing; welding; drywall; painting; and finishing.
• Maintain a clean job site; pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day in order to eliminate potential hazards.
• Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations including the proper use of all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring problems to the attention of the Production Supervisor.
• Interact with other departments to improve processes or designs.

 SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing, construction or similar environment.
• Carpentry skills and experience in dry wall taping preferred.
• Some experience reading construction documents or blueprints highly preferred.
• Understanding/knowledge of proper use of equipment, tools, materials used in commercial and interior projects.
• Basic math proficiency – adding, subtracting, and geometry.

Educational Requirements
• Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work. High School diploma or GED
preferred.

Work Environment
• Union Shop.
• Regularly works in conditions that include exposure to dust, cold, heat, or humidity.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
• Noise level is generally loud.
• Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
• Excellent stamina is required.
