Skender Begins Preconstruction on 108-Unit, 369,000 Square Foot Mixed-Use Project

Skender Construction’s Mixed-Use | Residential Group recently began preconstruction on The Shops and Lofts at 47, a mixed-use development that is set to be constructed in Chicago’s Cottage Grove Corridor.

The Shops and Lofts at 47 will bring 108 condominiums, 23 town homes, professional office space and as many as 30 retailers to the area. The two-phase project will stretch from 47^th to 48^th streets and from Cottage Grove to Evans avenues.

The development will offer both market rate and affordable housing, and the retail component could potentially bring 300 new jobs to the local area.

The Shops and Lofts at 47 is a joint venture between Skilken and TROY Enterprises in community partnership with Quad Communities Development Corporation.

Skender is set to break ground on the development in fall 2008.
