Affordable Housing

Humboldt Ridge Apartments

Skender’s extensive experience in constructing high-quality affordable housing developments helped transform an environmentally hazardous three-acre site into a vibrant new community.

Located in Chicago’s Humboldt Park, Humboldt Ridge Apartments adds 100 one-, two- and three-bedroom affordable units to the neighborhood. Ten 3-story buildings boast sweeping balcony enclosures, rounded windows and asymmetrical architectural details.

The development was funded by the Illinois Housing Development Authority and other bank funds. Skender’s value engineering options reduced initial costs by eight percent.
